FAQ
When I try to connect to the IRC network, I get no response. What can I do?
Try using another port to connect on the network.
Press Alt + O or File > Options, then go to Connect > Servers.
Select the 'Warez-BB.org' server, and click on 'Edit'.

You can try the ports from 6667 to 6669.
Don't forget to press 'Select' button when you confirm the edit.

I'm behind a Firewall, a Proxy or a Socks service. How can I get mIRC working with them?
Go to the Options dialog, in Connect > Firewall.

Set 'Both' to Firewall support, add your proxy information and press ok.

Since anybody can chose any nickname, how can I protect mine?
Our IRC network has a Nickserv service which will protect your nickname.
Ensure that your nick resembles your forum username.
After using the the network for at least 30 seconds, type the following command:
/msg NickServ REGISTER
Example: /msg NickServ REGISTER bLkRpw98f pcwbb@randommail.com

At each time you get connected, you can identify yourself by typing:
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY
Example: /msg NickServ IDENTIFY bLkRpw98f

Even if my IP is hidden, my hostmask is only half hidden. Can it be fully hidden?
Yes, Warez-BB offers a simple vhost service.
Just type the following command: /vhost warez-bb ircuser
This will set your vhost to user.warez-bb.org

You can verify if your vhost is set by performing a whois command.
Right click on your name in the contact list > Whois.

Then go to the status window and read your whois.

As you can see, the hostname is now fully hidden.
(NB: the 'connecting from' part is only displayed when you whois yourself)

I can notice there are commands like /msg or /join. Are they any other commands?
Yes, mIRC has a lot of commands. Check them out here.

I am not on a Win32 operating system. How can I connect to the IRC?
There are a lot of other clients, on Windows but also on Mac & Unix systems.
There's XChat for Unix & Linkinus for Mac OS.

I get prompted by a Register dialog each time I open mIRC?
You can register by getting on 'Help > Register...'

Can I connect to IRC using SSL encrypted connection?
Yes, you can connect on the IRC network via SSL. You will need OpenSSL libs for mIRC from this link.
Once libs installed, connect to the IRC network through port +6697/+7000 to access via SSL connection. The prefix plus(+) indicates SSL port.

I receive a message telling me that I've been permanently banned - I've a KLINE/GLINE/ZLINE against my IP. What can I do?
We protect our network with a proxy scanner and spamhaus blocklist - If you were banned by Proxymon, we cannot help you. Check your PC, contact your ISP or speak directly with external blacklist maintainer.
